1 Dress 3 Ways
There's a lot of talk out there about fast fashion. Keeping up with the ever-changing trends while remaining true to your style can be difficult, but in an effort to promote other small businesses and ethical designers, I made a New Years Resolution to really take time and think about what should be added to my closet. For me, 2018 has been all about shopping smart, instead of shopping quickly.
Fast fashion doesn't just mean shopping whatever is in the front of the cheaper store any given day. For me, it meant not buying a new outfit for every single event I go to, which I know we are all guilty of at some point! I was finding myself shopping for a birthday dinner, and then on the hunt for a completely new look just a week later!
That's why I was so excited to find this Eve market wrap maxi dress by Auguste The Label. Florals can feel like a repetitive print to wear since they are here every spring and summer season , and I know the feeling of "Once there are pictures of me online in it, I can't wear it anymore," but after owning this piece for several weeks now, I've already worn it 3 (yes, THREE!) times - each time filled with more and more compliments on not only its style, but its versatility.
Day 1: It's a Date
I swear, this dress was designed for a delicious Italian meal and a couple glasses of red wine. I dressed this baby up on a Friday night with a black bootie, leather jacket, and hoop earrings for a Friday night date-night with my husband. Even under a few layers, this dress stands out and is the perfect amount of sexy without tugging at the neckline/fixing the hemline throughout your meal. Plus, I'm happy to report I was able to clean my plate and polish off the bread sticks comfortably.
Day 2: The Best-Dressed Guest
Dressing for winter-ish weddings can be hard. It's feeling a little too Spring-y lately to dive into deep emeralds or metallics, but it's also not quite time for pastel pinks. With the main color in this dress being black and the florals being toned down this dress was rocked again at a wedding, this time with neutral pumps. I also added some statement earrings to the mix to dress it up even a little more.
Day 3: Takin it Easy
Wanting to snap some cute pics at the Farmers Market, I opted for the Eve market maxi dress yet again! This time I paired it with black Vans and an oversized vintage Levi's jacket. Throw your hair up in a messy bun with some oversized sunnies and you have the best go to day outfit. This dress stole the show while not being too over-the-top for daytime.
When thinking of pieces that work with what you currently have, don't be afraid layer and mix it up! Florals can definitely act as a neutral while also standing alone. A lot of my closet is denim, black and beige so throwing in a pop of color here and there is fun, and deserves to be worn more than just once!
