Denver Street Style
In the past few years, the city of Denver has explode to a thriving, technology-focused, bustling, metropolis. We have everything now - an In n Out, a Shake Shack, and a Fashion Week. Growing up here, the idea of Denver being a fashionable city was laughable, and even today when I visit major cities for buying trips, I find them grouping Denver in with other "Midwestern", not-so-forward fashion cities -- as if we were all the same.
Denver may not be coastal, but it gets 300 days of sunshine a year. It is consistently one of the top-ranked healthiest states in the US, and there's always some new attraction popping up, whether it be in the city, or in the beautiful mountains - it really is the state for all walks of life, and all different types of people. (I mean...Denver's not fun! Don't move here! ;) )
While scoffing at Denver's street style may have been something a few years ago, it's not that way anymore. Our style is relaxed, yet feminine. We wear jeans to almost everything: summer barbecues, family game nights, shopping in Breckenridge, picnics in Wash Park. We layer not because we want to, but because we need to - the weather changes 45 times a day and while it can start at 80, it might end with snow. Leather jackets and a good walking boot? That's not a new trend to us, it's a way of life.
I'm excited to share one of my favorite Denver street-style looks, all styled from Fifth & Hudson. Encapsulating the true Colorado spirit: understated yet sophisticated, refined yet playful, comfortable yet chic. We've got mountains to climb, marshmallows to roast, and breweries to tour and while other major cities may not recognize ours as "trendy", we've got too many new fun things to explore to notice.
AGoldE Low Rise Lara Jeans - Some holes in them for everyday wear, but not too much distressing where your grandma asks if you really paid full price for them. The blue is perfect for day-to-night wear as well.
The Fifth Label Verse LS Top - A little fun, and a little flirty, but mainly just easy to wear and a top you can repeat over and over again and wear with jean shorts later on. This isn't your high-school peasant top, it's channeling your inner bohemian spirit while still paying tribute to your Western roots.
Ah, The Laundry Rooms Moto Jacket. In these parts, a light-weight yet functional jacket is the last step to completing the perfect Denver outfit. Chilly summer nights and cool Spring mornings both call for it.
Messer Fedora - The only people that still wear a cowboy hat here are the people that greet you at the airport -- we're more of a Fedora fam now.
